In the
Hereford Worcester League
the various teams have had a mixed 2010 season.

This year the ladies' teams have struggled as they have had the A team severely depleted by injuries,which has had a knock on effect to the B and C.

The men however have had their most successful season for many years.The newly promoted A team,led by Paul Marchant,excelled, finishing second in the top division.The team built on their experience last Winter when under captain Paul Bennett the squad won Div.3,and they are looking forward to playing in the second division this coming season.The B finished second in their division,and the C and D were third in their sections.
The mixed A team did well to come second in Div.2 and will be in Div.1 next year.

Amazing Team Success !!
our top men's team ploughs through all opposition to beat Stourbridge A & Wall Heath

Our men's A team have had two excellent results beating Stourbridge 4-2 and Wall Heath A 6-0.
The win against Stourbridge was particularly pleasing as their team included Lewis Barnes who has, in the past, been nationally ranked and played doubles at Wimbledon.
It is worth noting that this year's team, captained by Paul Marchant, consists of 5 players who have come up through our junior section. As well as Paul, they are Ali Barton, Nick Bell, Paul Bennett and current County U 18 champion Jack George-Burnell. The sixth member is Richard Broadhead who is a welcome new addition to the club this season....have you spotted anything by the way?...it would appear those with surnames beginning with B take to tennis  like a duck to water!

The women's A team is sadly depleted this year due to injuries to 3 of the regulars and one of last year's team having left. As a result they struggled in their first match, a local derby, against Stourport A, losing 0-6.

Mens'  "A" team captain says...

Following our promotion to Worcestershire division 1 last summer, the team have performed outstandingly well in the opening few months of the summer campaign.
A particularly difficult 5-1 reverse at the hands of Manor Park (last year's champions) has been followed up with wins against Stourbridge "A" and Wall Heath, results that should secure league status for another year. This, combined with the excellent NCL results, promise to produce a 4th promotion within 3 years.  This is testament to the hard work and practice that all players have put in over the season.  Yes you could say that's it been a
